Nefesh Kicks Off 3rd Annual 'Jewish Tanglewood'!
The Third Annual Jewish Festival of Art & Music which was held this past Labor Day weekend in Southbury,
CT (dubbed the 'Jewish Tanglewood') was a tremendous success, with the biggest attendance and, despite
fears of wet weather, it didn't dampen the enthusiasm that abounded this event.
The festival was led off by yours truly, the Nefesh Klezmer Band.
Also on the lineup was Gerard Edery (with a wonderful presentation of Sephardic and Middle-eastern music),
accompanied by world-renowned master of the Oud (Middle-Eastern lute), George Mgridichian. And talking
of world-renowned . . . headlining the event was the incomparable Theodore Bikel.
The festival also featured Judaica, Jewish art, a kid's program and everything from Shofar-making to a Matzo
bakery!
The one day event attracted more than 2000 festival-goers.
